About Local Kindness

Buy local. Hire local. Support local.

Local Kindness is built around a simple idea: when somebody nearby needs a hand, more of that opportunity should remain nearby.

Each Location has a local Partner. Depending on the service, that Partner may complete the work themselves or involve a nearby restaurant, bakery, florist, worker or other local business.

The aim is practical: make useful local services easier to find, easier to book and easier to deliver well.

Planned properly, without the rush

Where a booking involves a supplier, our standard is to place the supplier order at least 40 hours before the job.

That gives the Partner, the supplier and the customer time to prepare. A restaurant can plan the meal. A florist can prepare the flowers. A bakery can make what has been ordered. Everyone knows what is happening, and nobody needs to race.

Local service should feel calm, personal and dependable.

What a Location may become

Every Location begins with a few useful services. From there, it can develop according to what local people need and what the Partner can confidently provide.

That might include:

  • services provided directly by the Partner;
  • work completed with trusted local workers;
  • deliveries involving nearby businesses; or
  • helping worthwhile local services become better known within the area.

Some Locations may remain small and personal. Others may recognise untapped potential and seek help expanding. Both are valid. The direction belongs to the Partner and the people who use the service.
